Ryobi RHT-2660DA Quik Fire Hedge Trimmer 26cc

In my Ryobi Quik Fire Hedge Trimmer review, I take a look at this really high quality petrol hedge trimmer. It gets its name from the high tech carburettor with electronic fuel injection that makes starting it so easy – and quick!

It has a powerful 26cc (0.89hp) 2-stroke engine with Roto Choke and Quick Fire carburettor, the design of which, allows you to use your Ryobi Rht-2660DA at any angle as the fitted diaphragm inside prevents flooding and engine cut-out.

An ‘at a glance’ summary of the main features of this hedge trimmer.

I have been looking for Petrol-driven models to review for this site and frankly this is one of the best I have come across recently.

I have not found it offered for sale at a lower price than that offered on Amazon!

Built for durability, the engine has a hard chrome plated cylinder and the clutch is heavy duty for efficient, optimal transfer of power. The fuel tank capacity is 0.3 litres and the well-balanced, lightweight unit weighs just 5.34 kg allowing you to work for longer without fatigue of back and shoulder muscles.

The Ryobi RHT2660DA has many features that make it great to use from the comfort point of view.  If you have ever used a pwer tool like this for prolonged periods, you will know how important this is.  These include five position rotating back handle, the safety front blade guard on the front handle, instant stop brake and low vibration.

The Ryobi Quik Fire is fitted with an excellent quality 600 mm (24”) double sided blade with reciprocating blade action (dual action) for reduced vibration.  It has a 28 mm tooth gap so it can cut through twiggy growth up to 28 cm (almost 1”) in thickness.  This is a powerful cutter but like any machine sold as a hedge cutter, it is not designed to be used as a chain saw and I would say that over prolonged use, it is at it its happiest cutting effortlessly through material of around half that thickness.

This machine delivers a powerful cut and gets the job done really quickly.  It can pretty much cope with any overgrown hedge, brambles and brush as well as trimming more formal hedging so it is ideal whatever the size or style of your garden.

This product gets excellent reviews wherever I have looked, here are a couple from happy customers:-

“We have several different makes of electric/powered garden tools, because we buy them by function, not brand. However, the two that stand out, at opposite ends of the spectrum are Ryobi and Black & Decker. Ryobi give terrific after-sales service, you speak to a real person, who gives his name!!!! and sorts out your problem. They are very helpful and efficient.”

“very pleased with this product 2mins after taking it out of the box I was cutting the hedge. It started almost straight away Nice sharp blades made short work of a long hedge. Great delivery from Amazon order it late Tuesday night,it arrived at 10.00am Thursday. Fantastic machine at a wonderful price.”
